Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineer required for a major client in Reading.
This is a full time permament position paying anyting from GBP40K to GBP60k per annum + benefits – depedning on experince.

Responsibilities
Diagnose and fix issues in complex technical environments following DevOps principals and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices.
Ability and awareness to carry out maintenance tasks on the solutions including custom built .NET applications and platforms that are supported.
The ability to implement code changes to existing .NET based applications and be able to trigger deployment and testing using Azure DevOps Pipelines.
Assist with the transition from development into production support by identifying and creating any necessary documentation and tooling required to support initial deployment for both internal applications used by our clients and applications sold directly to end users (B2C).
Ensure that applications hosted within cloud environments such as Azure and AWS are running in the most cost effective manner, implementing auto-scale and tuning allocated capacity as required.
Develop tools and automation capabilities for our customers internal and client facing applications to improve their overall supportability and empower our clients Service Desk Agents to perform more first time fixes.
Understand customer requirements and work collaboratively with architects and consultants to solve technical solutions to deliver the expected outcomes.
Contribute to estimating activities for support handovers, driving towards approaches that balance quality and velocity of delivery.
Able to review and maintain the comprehensive technical documentation that supports the deployment and administration of the solutions we support from build.
skills and experience
Strong experience developing and deploying .NET applications.
Extensive experience supporting .NET applications.
Experience developing and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure.
Experience of S.O.L.I.D design principles and modern design patterns.
Experience of front-end web development and support.
Experience of working with SQL databases.
Experience of using Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM, Bicep or Terraform.
Experience of configuring CI/CD pipelines.
Experience of using and configuring ALM tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
Experience in proactive monitoring including performance monitoring of applications.
