Big Data Technical Solutions Architect

Someone who has worked closely with CTO level and Stakeholders, and with the Sales Team helping them with new business proposal within their existing and new logo’s clients.
Someone who works closely with the development team guiding on the design and solutions
Ideally someone who is strong in Java as most of the IB Data Lake stack is Java based.
Your Role

Are you driven and innovative solutions architect with a strong focus on delivery and a passion to design and build robust, performance and scalable solutions?

We are looking for someone like that to strengthen our core engineering team and design and implement solutions to address and meet business requirements and needs, specifically:
Drive architecture, standards and guidelines aligned to the IB data strategy.
Lead cultural change for cloud adoption and develop a cloud strategy.
Comprehend business strategies and requirements, and develop the necessary designs and plans to ensure projects and solutions satisfy those needs.
Guide implementation teams to successful delivery using industry best practice patterns and principles.
Collaborate with divisionally aligned CTO to ensure enterprise architecture is implemented.
Work closely with developers and programmers although your role will be to guide high-level decisions throughout the design and implementation process.

Your Team:
You’ll be working within the Client, Data and Regulatory Services team, responsible for delivering trade reporting and order record-keeping capabilities for the IB. This is a global team of experts, providing new technology, best in class solutions to the Financial Services & Insurance Industry Sector.

Your Experience and Skills:
Hands on experience of the Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Kafka, Flink, Map Reduce, Hive, Parquet, Yarn, Sentry, Kerberos, Cloudera, Impala, Zookeeper, Solr, Avro etc.).
Hands-on experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, HBase, etc.
Hands-on experience of building data pipelines for ingestion, processing and aggregation of data.
Experience with cloud technologies (MS Azure or AWS) and enabling cloud-native solutions.
Experience build CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Docker, PKS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).

You Have:
The ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges in an enterprise environment and create a partnership with project sponsors and road-map with business vision.
Lead technical and business discussions addressing comparisons to alternatives and technical deep dive into solution architecture.
In-depth understanding of architecture driven methodologies, micro-services, API, technologies, and trends.
Well developed negotiation and influential skills with technical and non-technical audience.
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication verbal and written skills.
Knowledge of Front-2-Back trade life cycle execution, data management and security.

Cloud Engineering Experience in some of the following:
DevOps, API Hosting, Web Hosting, Data Storage, Data Analytics, Data Visualization, Native AI Tools, Encryption Services, Multi-location Hosting, VM Hosting, Document Management System, Application Monitoring, Log/Audit Management, IOT services, Identity Management, Blockchain Services.

Big Data Engineering Experience in some of the following:
NoSQL, Data Visualization, Java, Python, Scala, Hadoop, Spark, Data Mining, Datamodelling, Data Analytics.
