Data Governance & Strategy – Director

Data Governance and Strategy combines experience in designing and deploying both strategy and governance frameworks to successfully deliver business goals.

We are looking for a Director level leader of Data Strategy and Governance that is excited to work in the fast pace of financial services, bring with them a passion and the spirit of entrepreneurship for all things data, and have a desire to make a difference with one of the world’s leading technology consulting firms.

We are looking for people with:

Advanced experience in understanding, designing and deploying data strategy and governance frameworks/operating models across enterprise in a highly regulated environment where the focus is on data quality, linage, policy, governance, privacy, security, models, aggregation, metrics, reporting, and monitoring is critical
A clear understanding of the full service of data capabilities and the data life cycle
A strong appreciation of the role of technology architecture and engineering in being able to translate strategy and governance outcomes to technology
The understanding of the transformation journey for data first strategy’ and the significance of technology as an enabler of data value
Ability to lead, grow and mature a thriving Data Strategy and Governance capability and consulting community
Executive level advisory consulting skills, proven ability to successfully communicate and collaborate with business executives and senior leaders to understand business objectives and influence directional strategies; to improve growth and performance of the company, to architect the right solutions for clients
Are actively engaged in industry and able to bring insight and thought leadership to the table
Responsibility:

Overall leadership or the development and growth of the UK Data Strategy and Governance capability
Lead the pursuit of new opportunities through network and client conversations
Commercial success
Collaborate globally with the wider Data Strategy and Governance community
Ideally you will have experience of:

Domain knowledge across banking and finance industry
Executive level relationships and/or consulting experience
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to analyse and clearly articulate complexities in a simple, clear and compelling way
An appreciation of Data Science and Analytics, Cloud adoption, Data Ops, Microservices and Integration
Experience working in global, multicultural environments which require cultural awareness
DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or other equivalent
Bachelor’s Degree or M.B.A in Information Technology field or related business topic
