As a Wireless Carrier Engineer, you will manage the certification requirements from the cellular carriers such as Telecom Client for the EU market, for example, while keeping them up to date for internal consumption. You should also be able to analyze the technical requirements and validate them against the software intended for carriers. You should be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with the carriers to explain the technical details on the topics related to the device’s behavior. You will be required to execute carrier certification testing in carrier labs or live air.
WIRELESS CARRIER ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and keep the mobile carrier’s requirement current
Analyze the carrier technical requirement and validate them against software intended for carriers
Execute Carrier Test Plan in carrier lab / live air.
Validate issues reported by carriers.
Prepare test reports for carrier technical acceptance.
Manage software upgrades for carrier samples.
Domestic and international travel to achieve program milestones, if required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in wireless consumer mobile products
5+ years of experience in mobile carrier requirement handling and certifications process from beginning to the type of approval
Knowledgeable and experienced in carrier certification testing
Experience with Qualcomm and Android debugging Tools
Experience at least two wireless technologies including UMTS, LTE and NR.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in working on the cellular products such as high-end smartphones and wearables from major brands
Experience with 5G certification is a plus
